About Us

RockHound Automation and Consulting was founded by Daniel Cinicola to provide personalized support for your automation needs.  Daniel has been working within the field of laboratory automation for more than 25 years, working not only in pharmaceutical research but also as an automation provider.  This employment combination gives Daniel a wide variety of experiences from which to draw.

As an automation provider, he developed custom automation solutions, translated laboratory methods into automated protocols, integrated standard and custom hardware/software into laboratory automation systems and worked on novel storage solutions (at Zymark (now Caliper-A Perkin Elmer Company) and TekCel (now Hamilton Storage Technologies)).  Within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry Daniel worked in a variety of roles (group leader, principal engineer and project manager) developing automated protocols, creating specification for automated solutions, providing first line automation support/technical expertise, and a project lead on both large and small scale projects (at Millennium Pharmaceutical (now Takeda), Amgen and Novartis Institute for Biomedical Research).

Daniel has automated numerous different applications within the laboratory environment and looks forward to working with you to understand, develop and deliver solutions which best fit your automation needs.
